Voluntary education (VolEd) opportunities are available to you regardless of where you serve. As a military member serving outside of the continental U.S. (OCONUS), you have access to a variety of options to help you begin or continue your education. Depending on your location, you may have access to these education services:

Central Command/Africa Command Downrange Contingency Areas:

In CENTCOM/AFRICOM, University of Maryland Global Campus provides onsite classes and education support for service members.

European Command

In EUCOM, there are two colleges/universities offering curriculum for service members:

Contingency Area Education Support Program Spotlight

Embry Riddle Aeronautical University (ERAU) is one of the contracted universities serving military members in Europe and in the Pacific.*
ERAU Frankfurt Graduation celebrated more than 54 new Eagles during the September 28th graduation ceremony, held at the House of Logistics & Mobility (HOLM), Frankfurt, Germany. Congratulations on this accomplishment!

ERAU partnered with Women in Aviation (WAI) to celebrate the 10th annual “Girls in Aviation Day” (GIAD) in September. Ten Embry-Riddle Campus teams throughout the European and Pacific U.S. Military areas, including Germany, Spain, Italy, mainland Japan, Okinawa, and South Korea, held flightline tours and static aircraft displays, presentations, and events, featuring female pilots, maintenance technicians, and more to inspire young girls aged 4-18 living in their local communities.
