National Test Centers (NTCs)
These testing locations are a convenient option for service members looking to take a CLEP or DSST exam through the Credit-by-Exam program.
NTCs are local or on-base colleges or universities that offer academic testing for DANTES-funded service members. DANTES funds the exam and sitting fees for tests taken at all on-base NTCs, as well as those local NTCs identified as Fully-Funded.

Military education centers interested in establishing an on-base NTC should coordinate with a college/university, the base Commanding Officer, and DANTES Credit by Examination Program Manager via email to dodhra.dantes-cpl@mail.mil for more information.

Government Test Center (GTC)
DANTES is working to expand access to the Credit-by-Examination program (CLEP/DSST) to service members who do not have an NTC located on or near their military installation. DANTES, College Board, and Prometric, have coordinated efforts to allow active-duty service members and/or General Schedule (GS) employees to operate GTCs on military installations. Helpful Information about Test Center Requirements to Determine your Level of Interest:
► Identify a Primary Test Center Administrator (PTCA). The PTCA will be overall in charge of the test center and will need to complete required training to operate the test center.
► Identify Test Center Administrators (TCA) to run the day-to-day operations. TCAs will also need to complete required training to operate the test center. You may have multiple TCAs.
► Provide a space for administration of examinations to service members. The size, location, etc. is up to you.
► Provide Internet access and non-government computers for testing.
► Complete a Statement of Understanding (SOU) between your test center and DANTES.
